Quantum algorithms will be able to scanmassive databases instantly, consuming mountains of financial data inmicroseconds and producing actionable suggestions in less. In this 4thIndustrial Revolution era, it could transform on: creating life-savingmedicines, protecting from invisible virus like Corona, detecting significantthreat to cyber-security, break encryption, revolutionize communications,rapidly accelerating the development of artificial intelligence, provide betterweather forecasting, and better financial modeling. Imagine quantum computingwill make human trading obsolete!

An ordinary computer chip uses bitwhich are like switches that can either be in the off position (represented bya zero) or in the on position (represented by a one).

This works great for most things, butit doesn’t reflect the way the universe actually works. In reality, thingsaren’t just on or off. There is uncertainty as well.

Quantum computers use qubits instead ofbits. A qubit allows for uncertainty. Rather than just being on or off, qubitscan also be in what’s called ‘superposition’ – where they are both on and offat the same time, or somewhere on a spectrum between the two. This ambiguity –the ability to both “be” and “not be” – is key to the power of quantumcomputing.

Researchers of Google, Microsoft, Inteland IBM have made great progress in developing the algorithms to create trulyuseful quantum computers!
