Adventure bikes have a special appeal for riders navigating congested city roads or winding mountain highways. These motorcycles typically come with large off-road tyres. But when dual-purpose tyres replace pure off-road rubber, riding over any kind of road becomes noticeably more comfortable. Suzuki Bangladesh has now brought in a new rugged adventure tourer fitted with 19-inch tyres — the Suzuki V-Strom SX 250.

The motorcycle was launched for sale in a grand ceremony at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BCFEC) in Purbachal, Dhaka, during Suzuki Day 2026 recently.

The bike looks quite large, with a wide seat, well-controlled handlebar and a digital speedometer that can display navigation through a Bluetooth connection. Special knuckle covers on the handlebar keep the rider's hands protected. The V-Strom has been redesigned in the mould of the legendary DR-Z racer and DR-Big off-road models. Its LED headlight and tail light ensure unhindered riding even in deep darkness.

Highway riding means considerable wind resistance, and the Suzuki V-Strom SX comes with a windscreen that shields the rider from strong oncoming wind. A dual-exit muffler, engine under-cowling and eye-catching graphics give the motorcycle a distinctive look. Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) and Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) technology are joined by MotoGP-derived technology. These technologies keep the engine lightweight while reducing friction loss, making the bike fuel-efficient without compromising top-end speed. With a 12-litre fuel tank and a 167 kg kerb weight, the bike ensures dependable capability for long journeys. For safety and control, it is equipped with dual-channel ABS and disc brakes at both the front and rear. The front features a 120 mm telescopic suspension and the rear a swingarm-type oil-damped suspension, along with tubeless tyres sized 100/90-19M/C at the front and 140/70-17M/C at the rear.

The V-Strom SX 250 is powered by a 249cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, SOHC, 4-valve engine. Maximum power of 26.1 to 26.5 PS arrives at 9,300 rpm, while 22.2 Nm of torque is available at 7,300 rpm. A 6-speed constant mesh gearbox and a modern fuel injection system deliver smooth power delivery, enabling a top speed of around 140 km/h.

Built for thrilling journeys, the bike measures 2,180 mm in length, 880 mm in width and 1,355 mm in height. A 205 mm ground clearance lets the V-Strom cross rough or uneven roads and potholes with ease. The wheelbase is 1,445 mm and the seat height from the ground is 835 mm.

Alongside the motorcycle's unveiling, the day-long event featured an exciting live stunt show, a dirt race, DJ performances and a special exhibition of motorcycle parts. The opening ceremony capped off “Suzuki Night” with dazzling concerts from top Bangladeshi rock bands such as James, Warfaze and Carnival, taking the celebration to a unique height. Suzuki Bangladesh's distributor is Rangon Motor Bikes Limited. The bike is priced at Tk 449,950, while customers who placed advance orders get it for Tk 429,950.
