BTCL has strengthenedautomation for the purpose of providing customer friendly services. As part ofthis, the state-owned company has introduced the facility to apply online for anew telephone connection.

Mohammad Morshed, GeneralManager, BTCL, said that from now on, new telephone connections can be appliedfor by downloading and installing the Telesheba app from the Google Play Storeon Android phones or through BTCL\'s website www.telesheba.gov.bd. At present, afree telephone connection is being offered across the country on the occasionof Mujib Year. In this case, to get a new connection, only the security deposithas to be paid through the bank.

He also said that the systemof paying security deposit online without going to the bank at home will be introducedsoon.
