The Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST) has marked a historic milestone with the acquisition of its second campus building, expanding its permanent campus footprint to প্রায় 200,000 square feet. This achievement reflects the visionary leadership of Engr. Abubokor Hanip, who is also the Chairman of PeopleNTech. Under his leadership, WUST has grown rapidly as a globally recognized institution committed to practical, industry-focused education, especially for international students, including a strong Bangladeshi community.

The newly expanded campus is designed not just as a physical space but as a complete innovation ecosystem. WUST has established advanced laboratories including Artificial Intelligence (AI) Labs, Security Operations Center (SOC) Labs, Cybersecurity Labs, Hardware and Network Labs, and Healthcare Labs, with a Robotics Lab set to launch soon. These facilities aim to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, ensuring students are equipped with the skills required in today’s competitive global job market.

One of the most transformative additions is the 31,000 square foot WUST Incubator for Startups and Entrepreneurs. This initiative reflects Engr. Abubokor Hanip’s vision of turning students into job creators rather than job seekers. The incubator will serve as a platform where students can develop innovative ideas, receive mentorship, build prototypes, and ultimately launch their own companies. It creates a unique opportunity for students to step into the world of entrepreneurship while still in university.

In parallel, WUST has announced a remarkable $6.5 million scholarship fund for new students, demonstrating its strong commitment to accessibility and inclusion. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce financial barriers, allowing talented students from diverse backgrounds to pursue higher education without the burden of tuition fees and focus entirely on skill development and innovation.

In his message, Engr. Abubokor Hanip emphasized that while infrastructure is important, true success depends on the students themselves. He encouraged students to take full advantage of the opportunities provided, to think beyond traditional academic paths, and to focus on building meaningful careers and impactful lives. He highlighted that WUST is not just building classrooms, but shaping a generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and global leaders.

This milestone also holds special significance as WUST represents one of the first Bangladeshi-founded universities in the United States, symbolizing a proud achievement for Bangladesh on the global education stage. With the continued support and collaboration of PeopleNTech, WUST is strengthening its mission to create a bridge between education, technology, and industry.

As WUST continues to grow, this expansion stands as a testament to its long-term vision: to provide world-class education, foster innovation, and empower students to create their own future. The university’s journey forward will not only be defined by its infrastructure, but by the success stories of the students who rise within it.
