According to an official notification issued today by the Senior Appointment-1 Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan (6492) has officially been given the responsibility of serving as the Acting Secretary of the ICT Division.

Prior to this appointment, he was serving as an Additional Secretary at the ICT Division Bangladesh. A member of the 18th BCS batch, Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan is widely recognized for his long administrative experience and professional expertise in public sector management and digital governance.

Government officials believe his leadership will play an important role in accelerating Bangladesh’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives, including the expansion of e-governance services, ICT infrastructure development, innovation ecosystems, freelancing growth, and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity.

Industry stakeholders expect the new leadership at the ICT Division to continue supporting Bangladesh’s vision of becoming a smart and digitally empowered nation through technology-driven economic growth and innovation.

The ICT Division has recently been involved in several major initiatives, including expanding freelancer support programs, enhancing AI and digital skills training, strengthening Hi-Tech Park activities, and facilitating international digital payment services such as PayPal in Bangladesh.

Technology experts and entrepreneurs hope that under the leadership of Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, the ICT Division will further strengthen collaboration between government, startups, educational institutions, and the private technology sector to create new opportunities for the country’s growing digital workforce.
