Grameenphone hasannounced to stand by the side of doctors, customers and affected retailersthrough various initiatives and contributions in the fight against COVID-19.New initiatives have been taken as a continuation of the previous activities.In all, the amount of Grameenphone\'s promised initiative stands at Tk 100crore.

Grameenphone CEO YasirAjman announced the new initiative in a video conference on Friday.Grameenphone\'s Chief Marketing Officer Sajjad Hasib and Chief Liaison OfficerKhairul Basar took part in the press conference.

At the same time, it wasinformed that Grameenphone has decided to further expand the collaborationactivities of 25,000 physicians recognized by the Department of Health at thisstage as part of the continuous support of the frontline fighters in the fightagainst Corona. Under this program, Grameenphone has announced to provide 30 GBinternet per month to the recognized doctors for a token price of Tk 1. Thisfacility will continue for the next six months of scheduled physicians.

  • ·     Securities credit scheme of Rs. 10 croresfor affected retailers

In addition, Grameenphonehas started offering 100 million minutes of free talk time (10 minutes persubscriber) to customers who have not been able to recharge in April or whohave no balance. This initiative of the organization will help the valuedcustomers to communicate with their loved ones. Also, as an emergency serviceprovider, Grameenphone has raised the call rate to 48 paise per minute from 8am to 12 noon for its 75 million subscribers during the crisis.

Besides, in case oflockdown, MyGP has announced 100 percent bonus on all weekly data packspurchased from the app. Grameenphone has announced a Tk 10 crore equivalentsafety-net credit scheme to help affected retailers.

In this regard,Grameenphone CEO Yasir Ajman said, "We have never faced such a crisisbefore working for the country.
