BTCL has strengthened automation for the purpose of providing customer friendly services. As part of this, the state-owned company has introduced the facility to apply online for a new telephone connection.

Mohammad Morshed, General Manager, BTCL, said that from now on, new telephone connections can be applied for by downloading and installing the Telesheba app from the Google Play Store on Android phones or through BTCL's website www.telesheba.gov.bd. At present, a free telephone connection is being offered across the country on the occasion of Mujib Year. In this case, to get a new connection, only the security deposit has to be paid through the bank.

He also said that the system of paying security deposit online without going to the bank at home will be introduced soon.
